A startling announcement
Merck is recalling Vioxx, a Cox-2 inhibitor, from the market. Apparently, a recent study to determine if Vioxx decreases the incidence of colonic polyps and the risk of colon cancer actually resulted in an increased risk of heart attacks and stroke. Because of this announcement, market shares of Vioxx dropped 25%, and I [...]

Almost done!

I finished working on most of our invites.
I took some photos for documentation purposes.:)
1. Photo 1 is a picture of our invitation with the shimmery organdy ribbon.
2. Photo 2 is a shot of our assembled invites.
I’m currently embossing all of our stickers (libre biceps exercise ito!) so that I can proceed with sealing the envelopes.

We have 81 days remaining…

And yet why do I feel like our wedding is just a couple of weeks away?
Hmmm… do other brides feel the same way or is it just me? I have always been the type who wants to get things done way ahead of time (ob-c). Once I decide to pursue an undertaking, the word ‘half-baked’ [...]

Still working on the invites (I think I was able to assemble 50, so I’m a third of the way there).
I’m trying to figure out if I will miss the preps after the wedding… but at this juncture, I simply can’t wait for the madness to end.:)

Ugh!

I was halfway through assemblying our invites when I realized that Crane’s provided us with so much tissue that I can actually use it to separate each insert. Eh I only placed it in between the main card and the reception card. Sayang naman yung extra if I don’t utilize it. So I made a [...]

I spent the entire afternoon with R&M scouring different stores in search of ‘give-aways’. I am happy to report that I did not come home empty-handed.
We will be giving each of our principal sponsors a set of pewter frames! I also bought tokens for our liturgical entourage. And since we will be giving ang-pao to [...]

I stayed at R&M’s place last night waiting for the rush hour traffic to subside. They showed me the invitation they picked and it was so elegant (they’re just waiting for the revised proof and then they’ll proceed na with the printing)! They also ordered wedding announcements (kasi it will turn out cheaper daw instead [...]

I thought morning report was pretty interesting.
They presented a case of a 92 year-old man with history of chronic depression and past suicide attempts who was recently discharged from the inpatient geropsych unit on stable doses of antidepressants. Per his wife, the patient had been doing well until the beginning of the hurricane season when [...]

On my way to work this morning…

I was driving westbound on the Howard-Frankland bridge when I saw a middle-aged gentleman on the median. I slowed down a bit to catch a glimpse and it seemed to me like he was walking towards the highway (though I couldn’t really be sure). And I thought to myself, ‘this guy must be out of [...]

My missalette printing has temporarily come to a halt.
I ran out of black ink. But I ordered it na (together with the booklet stapler). The great part is that my purchases qualified for free shipping!
Another advantage of running out of ink is that I can concentrate on assemblying our invitations (which really should be my [...]
